The problem BigDaddy NFT Ecosystem solves
BigDaddyNFT addresses a variety of major challenges in the digital asset and blockchain industry, particularly surrounding non-fungible tokens (NFTs). BigDaddyNFT is a comprehensive platform that streamlines these processes of creating, distributing, and verifying NFT ownership
Firstly, NFT creation can be a daunting task, especially for users without extensive blockchain experience. BigDaddyNFT simplifies this process with the BigDaddy Minter Page, which allows users to easily create an NFT collection. During this creation process, the BigDaddy Contract generates a siteId, which is necessary for utilizing the BigDaddyNFT Plugin.
The platform also introduces the BigDaddy DeveloperSite. This site allows developers to generate an account on the BigDaddy Gitlab Server (and on BigDaddy Mattermost), and to register on blockchain a website template that can be sold on the BigDaddy Marketplace.
The BigDaddy Marketplace, another component of the ecosystem, provides a platform for users to buy a website template and deploy it with a personal SiteID on the Internet. This expands the distribution possibilities and sales reach for these digital assets.
Lastly, verifying NFT ownership can be technically complex. BigDaddyNFT addresses this issue by enabling route access restriction based on NFT ownership with the BigDaddyNFT Plugin. This means that only verified NFT owners can access specific website routes, providing a valuable utility for these tokens.
In summary, BigDaddyNFT solves key pain points in the NFT ecosystem, making it an invaluable tool for anyone involved in the creation, sale, or utilization of NFTs. By simplifying these processes and making them more accessible, BigDaddyNFT is contributing to the democratization and advancement of the NFT space.
Challenges we ran into
During the development of the BigDaddyNFT ecosystem, we encountered several significant challenges that tested our resilience and problem-solving skills.
Firstly, we had to navigate the complexity of handling various technologies. Blockchain technology, in particular, presented a steep learning curve for many developers, myself included. Writing and deploying smart contracts proved to be a substantial challenge. To overcome this, I conducted extensive research and performed rigorous testing, utilizing tools like the Flow playground.
Another hurdle arose in creating the BigDaddy Marketplace and the BigDaddy DeveloperSite. Developing a user-friendly marketplace for the sale and distribution of digital assets required meticulous planning and execution. Additionally, enabling automatic deployment of BigDaddyWebsites proved to be a significant challenge. Establishing a platform where developers can register and sell their website templates necessitated seamless integration of various technologies. These challenges were overcome through iterative development and comprehensive testing.
It's worth mentioning that we faced external challenges as well. The situation in my country, Madagascar, has been plagued by frequent power outages since June. I had to adapt my work schedule to accommodate these unpredictable power cuts. Furthermore, as I have not been working full-time as a developer for over six years, I had to continuously upskill myself throughout the project's evolution.
Despite these challenges, participating in this hackathon provided the motivation to bring to life a project that had long been on my mind. Each hurdle we encountered served as a valuable learning opportunity, allowing us to build a robust and feature-rich platform that makes NFTs more accessible and useful.
Overall, overcoming these obstacles has reinforced our determination and highlighted our ability to adapt and grow in the face of adversity.
