Bonded labor is a pervasive problem in the Indian brick industry, where workers are forced to work in inhumane conditions with little or no pay, and are unable to leave due to their indebtedness to their employers.

Proper records aren’t maintained so the workers cannot argue that they’re given the wrong wages.

The brick sector in India is tremendous in size and spread but very unorganized.India is the second largest brick producer (China dominates with 54 % share) in the world.

Challenges we ran into

Using tech at such small stage requires campaign and on-field knowledge. The interface could be difficult for labors to understand.
