Improving access to technology in Rural India by enabling every Indian to experience mobile apps in their Mother Tongue

The problem BhaRath solves

BhaRath is a low code API that can be integrated with existing mobile apps. Using Voice-Enabled Navigation, we guide users through the app in their preferred language such as Kannada/Hindi/Tulu. For instance, it can help users complete UPI transactions, order medicines etc in their Mother Tongues

Challenges we ran into

Initially, we were unsure of which environment we would use to create our product. So, we divided this hackathon into 3 phases:

  1. Proof of Concept
  2. Prototype
  3. Minimum Viable Product

Accordingly, we designed a basic PAYTM interface using a software called Figma as a prototype.
We then leveraged a tool called Adalo to build a fully functional prototype, which helps users to purchase medicines online on 1mg.COM
Finally, we coded the Minimum Viable Product using Android Studio, which is used to assist individuals to login to a Banking Portal

This ensured the we were able to follow a systematic approach of Prototyping, followed by building a Proof of Concept and finally a coded product that can be downloaded as an APK.
