BETRMINT is a popular mini app on Farcaster and The Base App that sets out to solve an existential problem for onchain creators and collectors alike: how to make supporting creativity an engaging, sustainable, and rewarding experience for everyone involved. Too often, minting feels transactional and short-lived; users buy a collectible, but the excitement fades quickly. Meanwhile creators struggle to capture lasting attention or, perhaps more importantly, any kind of consistent revenue.

BETRMINT fixes this by turning minting and collecting into a game of serendipitous speculation inside of a mini app. Every mint is no longer just a purchase, it’s a spin of the wheel, a moment of anticipation, fun, and potential reward. This simple twist transforms passive patronization into an active, repeatable experience that keeps people coming back again and again, and allows creators to get paid for their creativity in the process.

How the Neon Flywheel Works:

Three times a week, we host a live game spotlighting a piece of onchain content by a featured creator. BETRMINT users jump into the app from a notification, and rush to collect editions of this content (it may be a content coin on Zora or Paragraph, or an NFT on Pods.media or BP.fun.) For each edition they collect, they are given a free ticket to spin the Neon Flywheel for a chance to win variable rewards, paid in a combination of our native token $BETR and other partner tokens. Proceeds from the collecting transactions are split between the creator, the host platform and our app.

The results after just over 4 months prove that something is working well here:
• Over 40,000 spins have already been completed across 60+ rounds.
• Each round is over-subscribed and often sells out in just 12–13 minutes, showing real demand.
• Our app has been consistently in the top 10 apps on both Farcaster and TBA, often taking the number 1 spot, and always sitting atop the rankings for the Games categories.
• Our app has generated over $150,000 in transaction volume to date, representing approximately $38,000 in monthly recurring revenue (MRR.)
• Most importantly, more than $35,000 has been paid out to creators already, validating that BETRMINT can not only entertain our community, but also provides creators with a meaningful and sustainable income stream.

In short, BETRMINT solves the problem of “one-off” digital engagement by replacing it with a loop of fun, fairness, and real rewards. It turns minting into something people want to do together, repeatedly, because everyone benefits: users enjoy the thrill of the spin, creators earn consistent rewards, and the community grows stronger with every round.

As an addendum, we also just introduced another facet and feature to the BETRMINT universe by releasing in-app staking for our native token. This allows our community members to stake their $BETR and earn daily rewards, drawn from a share of the revenue being earned by the app. We believe strongly that the health of our community and the strength of our native token are both of utmost importance to keep the flywheels spinning within the game... the higher the confidence in (and ergo, market cap of) the token, the more airdrops, community initiatives and BETRMINT rounds we can fund from our own bootstrapped token supply, and that is why we are hoping to make our community feel as vested as possible in our continued success. It seems they do: After just one week of staking going live, 24 Billion tokens have already been staked, representing more than 40% of the liquid circulating token supply.

We are excited to keep shipping and iterating and continuing to build one of the strongest token communities on Base, while leveraging the popularity of our mini app to help creators get paid for their creativity and boost their profiles on Zora, Farcaster, TBA and elsewhere.

The most difficult challenges we have encountered while building this app, token, and community has been overcoming initial objections and misunderstandings about the nature of the app. The name of the app was very intentional and, we believe, powerful -- users Bet on the success of creators by Minting their content, for the betterment of everyone involved. BETRMINT.

But over the past month, some have just seen the word "Bet" or the spinning neon wheel and assumed that our is another soulless casino app, which couldn't be further from the truth. In all honesty, the only way out is through for a challenge like this, and we have just focused on continuing to serve our North Star, which is to help creators get paid for their creativity onchain, while also spending a lot of time and energy building and curating a strong community of supporters.

The proof is always in the pudding after all, and so when people see our community raving about the good vibes and positive experiences, while creators are posting about how they are making money for their content in a way that hadn't been previously possible for them, it begins to click for folks. We are confident that as we continue to push boundaries and help creators, our reputation will grow and we will eventually have the luxury of enjoying all the nostalgic benefits of our retro neon game-house aesthetic, without the challenges posed by incorrect assumptions.
