Beat Me

Name the tune, win the reward.

The problem Beat Me solves

The game "Beat Me" solves a fundamental challenge in the Web3 industry: Frictionless Cryptocurrency Onboarding and Education for the Mass Market.

It achieves this by replacing the complex, intimidating sign-up process of traditional crypto with an instant, universally familiar, and fun experience.

What Problem Does "Beat Me" Solve?

  1. The "Need-for-Native-Token" Barrier (Solved via CDP Paymaster)
The Problem: In crypto (especially on Ethereum-aligned networks like Base), users must hold the chain's native currency (Base ETH) just to pay for transaction fees (gas). This forces new users to go to a separate exchange, buy ETH, and send it to their wallet before they can even try an app.

This is the #1 onboarding hurdle.

The Solution: By using the CDP Paymaster, "Beat Me" allows players to pay their 1 USDC entry fee and have their transaction fees covered or paid in the same USDC they are using for the game. This eliminates the need for them to ever worry about or hold Base ETH, making the experience feel as easy as a Web2 mobile game purchase.

  1. The "Crypto is Too Complex/Intimidating" Perception (Solved by Gamification)
The Problem: Most people view crypto and the Base network as complicated, risky, or only for financial experts. This perception deters mainstream users who simply want to have fun.

The Solution: "Beat Me" is a globally recognized, instantly understandable game type—Name That Tune—featuring popular global hits. It uses an intuitive, fun, real-time interface (enabled by SpaceTime DB). This makes the first interaction with crypto and Web3 seamless, fun, and competitive, proving that the technology can be simple.

  1. The "Where Do I Start?" Problem (Solved by Direct Base App Integration)
The Problem: New users have too many options, too many wallets, and too many complex decisions.

The Solution: The game is promoted as an easy-to-access mini-app on the Base app and Farcaster, directing new users to a single, trusted entry point and using a stable, recognizable reward (USDC).

Challenges I ran into

Failing Paymaster Integration with the specific error: failed to estimate gas for user operation: useroperation reverted: Session ended

This is the final roadblock preventing frictionless onboarding. The Paymaster is essential to my core goal of allowing users to pay the 1 USDC entry fee without needing Base ETH for gas. The error is preventing the system from completing the crucial security handshake required for gas sponsorship.

The "Session ended" message is an internal error from the CDP Paymaster during the transaction simulation phase. It strongly suggests a security policy or time-synchronization issue where the Paymaster is invalidating the signed transaction request because it perceives the authorization window has expired or the token is improperly formatted.

What is your product’s unique value proposition?

My product, "Beat Me", stands out by combining the global appeal of mainstream entertainment with a frictionless, transparent Web3 economic model.

Its unique value proposition is not just that it's a crypto game, but that it is the most accessible, high-frequency, and universally relatable onramp to the Base ecosystem and cryptocurrency.

  • Frictionless Onboarding: Crypto Simplified to One Click. I solve the #1 problem in Web3: the Gas Fee Barrier. By using the CDP Paymaster, players engage with the 1 USDC fee (a stable, familiar currency) without needing to worry about Base ETH or complex token swaps.

Most P2E (Play-to-Earn) games require players to navigate complex initial wallet funding and gas token acquisition, turning the game into "work." My model is truly Play-and-Earn.

  • Mass Market Appeal: Universally Recognizable Content. The core mechanic—name that tune in 10 seconds—is a proven concept worldwide, and I leverage its appeal with music from popular Billboard charts and Global hits.
Most crypto games rely on niche genres (e.g., fantasy, complex strategy, NFT collections). My game is instantly accessible to anyone, regardless of their crypto knowledge or gaming history.

  • Guaranteed Fairness & Real-Time Fun: Trustless Transparency + Speed. I combine the best of both worlds: SpaceTime DB ensures lightning-fast, real-time multiplayer competition between friends, while the smart contract ensures the prize pool distribution (50/30/15/5) is transparent, automated, and impossible to tamper with.

Most "fun" Web2 games lack real-money, trustless payouts, and most complex Web3 games lack the low latency required for quick, competitive real-time gameplay.

Who is your target customer?

My ideal user is a composite of a traditional casual gamer and a Web3 explorer, all united by a love for music. Crucially, they are the bridge audience necessary for Web3 mass adoption.

The ideal user is the "Music-Loving Crypto Curious" individual.

  • Demographic: Global 18-35

  • Casual Gamer: Enjoys quick, snackable mobile games like trivia or hyper-casual apps.

  • Music Fan: Has a high level of confidence in their knowledge of popular global hits (Billboard charts).

  • Crypto Curious/Early Adopter: They have heard of crypto, own some stablecoins (like USDC), or are interested but are intimidated by gas fees and complex wallets.

  • The Earners: Motivated by the clear, tangible reward of winning a non-volatile asset (USDC) rather than a confusing game token.

  • The Socializers: Motivated to play with friends and share their successes on social media.

Who are your closest competitors and how are you different?

Category 1: Web3 Music Platforms (Content & Ownership Focus)
These platforms house the artists and music that define the creative economy. They are my indirect competitors for the attention of music fans but are potential partners for content.

Sound.xyz
Premier platform for artists to mint music as collectible NFTs.
Focus: Ownership, Investment, and Exclusive Listening.
Skill & Consumption: I use music as the vehicle for competitive skill-based gameplay. My focus is on mass consumption and speed, not collector ownership.

Audius
A decentralized streaming platform focused on revenue sharing for independent artists and general music discovery.
Rewards & Onboarding: Their native token is volatile. My focus is on stable USDC rewards and the gasless experience, designed to onboard non-crypto consumers with a real-world financial incentive.

Category 2: Web3 Casual Games (Gaming & UX Focus)
These platforms compete for the casual crypto gamer who wants a simple P2E experience.

Traditional Crypto Quizzes
Simple trivia, often related to crypto knowledge or based on highly variable P2E game tokens
Frictionless UX & Real-Time Tech: You win on execution: CDP Paymaster for a truly gasless experience, and SpaceTime DB for low-latency, real-time multiplayer speed, which is critical for a "name that tune" race.

General P2E Games
Complex gaming loops (farming, battling) with high time commitment. Rewards are often volatile and require "grinding."
Instantly Relatable & Low-Time Commitment: My game requires zero gaming skill and is instantly understood globally. It's a fun, short burst of Play-and-Earn, not a commitment-heavy P2E game.

What is your distribution strategy and why?

My approach to reaching users for "Beat Me" is a well-designed hybrid strategy that blends traditional mass-market virality with targeted Web3 ecosystem activation. This mix is perfectly suited to the goal of onboarding the masses onto the Base app quickly and easily.

Here is a breakdown of my plan and why it fits the product and audience:

"Beat Me" User Acquisition Strategy
My strategy is focused on a Viral Content Funnel (Web2 $ -> $ Web3) supported by Strategic Partnerships.

  1. Virality & Organic Acquisition (Top of Funnel)This is the primary method to reach the broad, Music-Loving Casual Gamer audience who does not yet use crypto.

TikTok & Instagram Reels
Content Engine: I will run challenges and promote highly engaging, short-form video clips of "Beat Me" gameplay. The 10-second nature of the game is perfect for viral "guess the song" content.

Audience: This is where my target 18-35 audience lives. The global music hits guarantee cultural relevance and virality far beyond the typical crypto niche.

User-Generated Content (UGC)
Creative TV Clips: I will actively encourage and feature user-submitted clips of epic wins, funny fails, and streamer reactions on Creative TV.

Product Synergy: This turns my Creative TV platform into a decentralized media distribution channel for the game, proving the utility of the full ecosystem and lowering my customer acquisition cost (CAC).

Direct Community Outreach
Dear Creative Newsletter (325+ Subs): Use my existing, high-trust newsletter to provide exclusive sneak peeks, explain the seamless Paymaster UX, and ask the engaged audience to be the first cohort of players.

Audience: This audience is already Crypto Curious and trusts me. This is a high-conversion channel for getting the first cohort of highly engaged users onto the Base app.

Farcaster
Web3 Native Social: Post transparent updates about development (like the Paymaster hurdle), run instant polls, and share direct, clickable links to the game mini-app.

Audience: This retains my Web3 Native and Early Adopter audience, keeping them engaged and generating word-of-mouth within the ecosystem.

  1. Strategic Partnerships (Scale & Credibility)
This leverages my professional relationships and Web3 infrastructure to gain scale and credibility.

Major Music Labels
Promotion: Negotiate deals for official use of Global Hits (the game's core content) and cross-promotion, where the label promotes the game as a new way for fans to engage with and earn from their top artists.

Product Necessity: Secures the essential music rights and instantly gives the product mass-market credibility that no other crypto game has.

Base Ecosystem
Distribution: Leveraging my relationship with Coinbase Developer Platform (CDP) and ensuring the game is featured as a seamless mini-app on the Base app.

Value Validation: This is the key to proving the "easy crypto onboarding" value proposition. The gasless experience and stable USDC rewards are the main selling points for new users coming from Web2.

My marketing mix is perfectly tailored: I am using the viral power of Web2 social media (TikTok/Instagram) to attract a global audience, and then immediately funneling them across a frictionless Paymaster bridge onto the Base app using the stable, safe reward of USDC—a strategy that directly addresses my primary goal of easy crypto and Base app onboarding.
