The problem Beast Mode solves

During the pandemic with most people working from home, it is up to us to stay motivated and productive. For this purpose, people use numerous productivity and scheduling apps, but still fall prey to procrastination as these require the user to plan their daily schedule precisely. We have built a different kind of productivity app, which would only require the users to specify a task's approximate duration and deadline, and the scheduling will be done randomly, taking the load off the user.

The workflow is as follows

1. Add tasks and the approximate duration and deadline
2. Click the "Do Something" button on the landing page, following which a random task is picked up and offered to the user
3. On starting the task, the user starts a 1-hour session working on the task
4. Upon successful completion, the user is given a pleasant reward, as well as the choice to spend another session on the same task

Paired with a cheerful and positive UI and design involving baby dinosaurs, the app can provide a more motivational and productive experience to the user compared to traditional productivity apps.

Challenges we ran into

While using Expo for bootstrapping the React Native project, we were unable to use DBs such as Realm and WatermelonDB as they weren't supported by Expo.
