The problem Agora solves

Debates today are often fragmented, biased, and lack accountability.
Traditional platforms for discourse — social media, forums, or live debates — suffer from several issues:

No Incentives for Quality: Participants rarely gain tangible rewards for presenting strong reasoning.

Bias & Manipulation: Outcomes are often decided by popularity, algorithms, or moderators with subjective bias.

Lack of Transparency: Once a debate ends, it’s difficult to verify what was said, who was more convincing, or how judgments were made.

Agora solves these problems by bringing debates onchain and combining them with AI-powered judgment:

Earn by Arguing: High-quality reasoning is directly rewarded.

Betting on Beliefs: Spectators can stake on outcomes, aligning skin-in-the-game with intellectual conviction.

AI Jury DAO: Removes human bias, applying transparent and objective evaluation of arguments.

Onchain Records: Every argument and verdict is immutably stored, ensuring credibility and historical accountability.

Challenges we ran into

One major challenge was figuring out how to fairly determine the outcome of debates.

At first, we considered a simple voting system, but we decided to take a more engaging approach by introducing AI Jury DAO—a structure where debates feel more like a game, and AI agents serve as transparent, verifiable judges. The way these AI agents reach their decisions is fully open for anyone to inspect through code, and in the future, we plan to upgrade this system together with the community through proposals.

Another significant challenge was amplifying the project itself. To overcome this, we consistently communicated with users through X during the building process and embraced a build-in-public approach, ensuring that our community was part of the journey every step of the way.
