The problem Mini Garage solves

How MiniGarage Makes Collecting Easier

1. Easier Access to Collectibles

Traditional Way
Collectors must visit physical stores, wait for restocks, or rely on limited events.

With MiniGarage
Users can collect cars digitally anytime through daily rewards, assembly mechanics, or blind-box purchases—no physical hunting required.

Result
Anyone can start collecting, regardless of location or experience.

2. Lower Risk of Counterfeits

Traditional Way
Buyers rely on seller reputation, photos, and personal judgment—counterfeits are common.

With MiniGarage
Each collectible has a verifiable digital record. Physical redemption is only possible by burning its digital counterpart, preventing duplication or fraud.

Result
Guaranteed authenticity and clear ownership history.

3. Safer Buying and Selling

Traditional Way
Secondary market trading is fragmented, slow, and risky.

With MiniGarage
Users can trade digital representations of collectibles instantly, without shipping risks. Physical delivery only happens when the owner decides to redeem.

Result
Faster trades with reduced fraud and logistics risk.

4. More Engaging Collecting Experience

Traditional Way
Collecting is mostly passive—buy, store, and wait.

With MiniGarage
Collectors earn fragments, complete blueprints, assemble cars, and unlock rewards through gameplay-like mechanics.

Result
Collecting becomes interactive, rewarding, and fun.

5. Better Liquidity for Physical Assets

Traditional Way
Physical collectibles are hard to sell quickly or partially.

With MiniGarage
Fragments and completed cars can be traded independently, giving collectors more flexibility and pricing transparency.

Result
Collectibles become more liquid and easier to monetize.

Who Is MiniGarage For?

  • Casual collectors who want a simple, safe way to start
  • Experienced collectors who care about authenticity and resale
  • Online buyers who want physical items without offline risk
  • Non-crypto users who want real products, not speculation

One-Line Summary

BaseWheels makes physical die-cast collecting easier, safer, and more accessible by combining digital ownership with guaranteed physical delivery.

Challenges we ran into

Handling Gasless Minting with a Mock Payment Token

One major hurdle we faced was designing a gasless minting flow while still preserving a meaningful payment and scarcity mechanism. To improve onboarding, we decided to use a backend-controlled wallet to mint NFTs so users do not need to pay gas fees. However, this introduced a challenge when integrating IDRX as the payment token, since IDRX is only available on mainnet.

To continue development and testing, we introduced a mock IDRX token. This created a secondary issue: users could claim mock tokens from a faucet, use them to spin the gacha, and the tokens would accumulate in the treasury. Automatically burning these tokens from the treasury would break the transparency and user-driven nature of the system.

We solved this by shifting the burn responsibility to the user. When a user initiates a spin, they must explicitly confirm a burn transaction that reduces their mock IDRX balance. The backend then verifies the burn transaction onchain, and only after successful verification does it mint the NFT using the backend wallet.

This approach preserves gasless minting for users, avoids centralized token burning, and maintains a transparent and verifiable payment flow. It also closely mirrors how the system would work with a real payment token on mainnet, making the architecture production-ready.
