The problem BASEPET solves
Basepet addresses several challenges in the current gaming and social landscape on Warpcast:
Strengthening Relationships: We aim to use cute pets to enhance users' connections with friends. This is achieved by allowing players to match their pets and feed others' pets through our action handle. In the future, users can host various activities, enabling hundreds of people to join in and have fun in the game.
Improving Game Interactivity: We noticed that the four-button frame isn't ideal for gaming, as games require sound, quick responses, and more interaction, which the current Warpcast frame lacks. Therefore, we plan to create a platform for game builders and players. Our website will feature a section where players can code and create their own mini-games, sharing them through frames on Warpcast. This is challenging, but we are determined to achieve it.
Promoting Projects in a Fun Way: We want to enable builders on Warpcast to promote their projects engagingly. They can commission us to create pets for them and host activities, such as offering rewards to people who join their parties on Basepet.
Challenges we ran into
First of all, finding someone to join us in building Basepet was quite challenging. I previously worked on a project with Nik-Navdiya, so I reached out to him. Both of us loved the concept of Basepet and decided to start building together. However, living in different countries made communication difficult, which caused some delays in our project. Despite this, we persevered by using Google Hangouts and messaging on Warpcast, ultimately delivering the ITO. We have already garnered interest from over 3,000 people, with more than 200 pets reserved.
Secondly, Promoting Basepet was initially difficult. Our introduction frame didn’t attract much attention at first. However, I quickly realized that people on Warpcast enjoy sharing content through frames. To capitalize on this, we created a frame that allowed users to choose their pets and share them on Warpcast, letting their friends know about Basepet. This approach successfully captured attention, with over 3,000 people sharing our frame. For a small project like Basepet, this was a significant achievement.
