BaseMusic by Yardsticks
open ownership for music
The problem BaseMusic by Yardsticks solves
Today's music landscape offers artists and fans few alternatives to the established industry model. Musicians seeking to share their work with the world typically face a difficult choice: either surrender significant control and revenue to traditional gatekeepers or struggle for visibility on their own.
Meanwhile, passionate listeners who discover promising talent early have no practical way to invest in artists they believe in, limiting their participation to conventional support through streams and purchases. This absence of options prevents more collaborative relationships from forming between creators and their communities.
Our protocol addresses this gap by providing a new pathway where artists can maintain ownership of their creative work while allowing dedicated fans to participate meaningfully in their success through transparent investment opportunities. This approach creates value for everyone involved while opening possibilities that simply weren't available before.
