We had to spend time and allocate resources to aquire the Reddit /Base handle. This included a lot of back and forth with the previous owners to convince them of our good intentsions going forward. Then we had to buy the handle.

We had to roll a growth marketing plan to get users into the subreddit. This included developing Base content in the beginning, to singal to users the subreddit was ultimately worth joining.

After that we began to deploy SEO tactics (Google currently loves and ranks Reddit highly) to start bringining traffic to the subreddit. This process is ongoing.

We tapped into some of our network outside of Reddit to drive users from Base, memes and other related Telegram groups.

The struggle was gaining intial trust and traction to acquire the first 1000 members. After 1000, Reddit started to push us up in native search and then post 10,000 members the influx of new members started to snowball - as the Reddit algorythm started to show us a lot of love. We are now peaking 18,000+ members and hope to surpass 100,000+ members by the end of Onchain Summer.

We moderate the content everyday to ensure that posts are Base related and not overtly spammy or misleading. There are a lot of meme coins posts which require a lot of moderation.

The goal is to grow the Base subreddit to several million users as we move into the bullrun.
