🛋️ Base Sofa | The #1 Telegram Gaming Bot on Base

The problem Base Sofa solves

For years, crypto users in Telegram groups have played simple betting games using reactive emojis. Rolling dice, throwing darts, flipping a coin. The games were fun, but there was always one big problem: trust. People were constantly getting scammed. Someone would lose and refuse to pay. Others would just disappear after winning. Everything relied on the honesty of random strangers in a chat, and most of the time it didn’t end well.

Base Sofa fixes that. It’s a Telegram bot that handles the bets, outcomes, and payouts automatically. Everything is secure and onchain using Base ETH. No more needing to trust someone you just met in a group chat. No more chasing people for your winnings.

But Base Sofa isn’t just about fixing that. It helps Telegram communities stay alive and active, which a lot of Base token projects struggle with after launch. The bot gives people a reason to come back and engage. Players level up the more they play thanks to our ranking system. There's a referral system so you can invite others and earn off their activity. And group chat owners get 1% of the total volume played in their group, making it easy to reward the ones who are building real communities.

One of the biggest features we’ve added during this Hackathon is the raffle. We give back 60% of all bot revenue to the players through a weekly prize pool, even if that means operating at a loss. If we didn’t do it, we’d still be down, but this project was never about short-term profits. It’s about building something with real value, something fun and sticky that people will keep coming back to.

We’ve got big plans for what’s next. We’re working on launching our own $SOFA token. Users will be able to play against the bot using it, and when they win, they’ll get paid in $SOFA from the treasury. If they lose, the bot does a buyback and burns the tokens. This adds constant pressure and utility to the token. And we’re setting things up so other Base token communities can integrate their own token into our games. Soon you’ll be able to roll dice or throw darts using the token you already support.

This is about making Base more fun, social, and active. And we’re just getting started.

Challenges I ran into

One of the biggest challenges was just getting the word out. Building the bot wasn't easy either, but trying to share it with the Base community as an unknown builder with no funding was rough. A lot of the people with reach in the ecosystem wouldn’t even read what you had to say unless you were paying them. I’ve seen people ask for $500 to $3000 just to share a project. If you didn’t have that kind of money, they just ignored you.

The good thing is, every time I actually got through to someone who was genuine and open, they’d try the bot, say it was cool, support the idea, and most even keep playing games. So not everyone’s like that. It’s just that the ones who get all the attention are usually the ones focused on money. The small, honest people are the ones who actually care about the builders, but they don’t get heard as much.

We’ve had to do everything ourselves. We giveaway balance in chats, keep improving the bot, run raffles to keep it fun, reward the users. Even though we’re not profitable, we give back 60% of our revenue to players. And to be clear, even if we didn’t give anything away, I’d still be down financially although not having spent a cent on Marketing. But I’m fine with that. I’m building this for the long run. I’d still be happy doing it even if it cost me money, because I believe in what we’re building, and I have a few people that are able to remember it to me through their support.
