Why are you participating for Based India?
I am participating in Based India to leverage my skills in building innovative and engaging projects that contribute to the crypto community. I aim to connect with like-minded developers, share ideas, and create solutions that enhance user experiences in the blockchain space. This hackathon presents a unique opportunity to learn, collaborate, and push the boundaries of creativity and technology.
What challenges are you focusing on?
I am focusing on the challenges of user engagement and education in the crypto space. Many newcomers find it difficult to understand blockchain concepts and navigate the crypto ecosystem. By developing an interactive game like 'Catch the Base Logo', I aim to provide a fun and engaging way for users to learn about cryptocurrency while developing their skills. This project also addresses the challenge of creating a welcoming community, encouraging collaboration and participation among both new and experienced users
How does your submission address this challenge?
My project, 'Catch the Base Logo', is an interactive game designed to engage users in the world of cryptocurrency in a fun and educational way. Players click on animated Base logos that appear on the screen, simulating a playful environment that encourages interaction.
This project addresses the challenge of user engagement by transforming complex crypto concepts into an accessible and enjoyable experience. As players interact with the game, they not only learn about the Base ecosystem but also develop their awareness of cryptocurrency in general.
The potential impact of this project is significant: by making learning about crypto fun, I hope to inspire more people to explore the technology and consider its applications. Additionally, it fosters a sense of community as players can share their experiences and encourage others to join in, ultimately promoting a more inclusive and informed crypto community.
Challenges I ran into
Animation Timing: I struggled with timing the animations to ensure that the logos appeared and disappeared in a way that felt engaging. To address this, I adjusted the CSS keyframes and timing functions until I achieved a smooth flow that kept players interested.
Responsive Design: Ensuring that the game functioned well on both desktop and mobile devices was a challenge. I focused on using flexible layouts and media queries to optimize the user experience across various screen sizes.
User Engagement: Finding the right balance of difficulty and fun was tricky. I gathered feedback from potential users and iterated on the gameplay mechanics to make it both challenging and enjoyable.
Additional Features
Scoring System: Players can now see their score displayed on the screen, which updates in real-time as they catch logos. This motivates users to improve their scores with each session.
Countdown Timer: A countdown timer was added to create a sense of urgency. Players have a limited time to catch as many logos as possible, increasing engagement and challenge.
Randomized Logo Sizes: To add variety and excitement, I randomized the sizes of the Base logos. Some logos are larger, making them easier to catch, while others are smaller, adding a challenge.
Game Over Screen: Upon reaching the end of the countdown, a "Game Over" screen appears, displaying the final score and offering the option to restart the game. This gives players a sense of completion.
Background Music: I included background music that plays while the game is active, enhancing the overall atmosphere and making the experience more enjoyable.
Responsive Design: The game was optimized for both desktop and mobile devices, ensuring a seamless experience across platforms.
