The aim of this project was to build an automatic attendance system using face recognition. It works in realtime and saves the attendance of students in an excel sheet.
The problem Automatic Attendance System solves
Online classes are going on almost everywhere in every college and school so this project makes it very easy for the teachers to mark attendance of the students. It recognized faces as well as the time the student logged in and saves the result into excel file. this making it easy for the teacher to work with and maintain a good record for the same.
Challenges I ran into
I have not participated in any hackathon earlier and i am not from computer science/IT background so it was quite difficult for me to implement the project itself. The main problem i faced was working with face detection models. I was not well versed with this technology but still i tried hard and managed to do it in time.
