The problem AuthCheck solves

AuthCheck is a solution that leverages the power of both NFTs and NFC tags to provide a secure and reliable way for brands to verify the authenticity of their products. NFTs, or non-fungible tokens, are unique digital assets that are used to represent ownership of a specific item or asset. AuthCheck uses NFTs to mint a digital certificate of authenticity for each luxury item, which is stored on a decentralized blockchain network.

NFC, or near field communication, is a technology that allows two devices to communicate wirelessly when they are close to each other. AuthCheck uses NFC tags to physically attach the digital certificate to the luxury item, providing an easy way for retailers and consumers to verify its authenticity using a smartphone or other compatible device. By combining NFTs and NFC tags, AuthCheck provides a highly secure and tamper-proof system for verifying the authenticity of luxury goods, protecting both brands and consumers from the risks associated with counterfeit products.

Challenges we ran into

We started with Solana ecosystem initially but we got stuck in Rust error which we and the mentors couldn't resolve, we finally turned towards Tezos blockchain and realised that it being implemented in various languages including Python, it was fast and efficient.
