Onchain auctions to book great experiences
The problem Auktrafi solves
Traditional hotel reservations are rigid — if a guest cancels or can’t travel, the room often stays empty or refund processes get messy. Auktrafi turns reservations into on-chain vaults with built-in auction mechanisms. This lets travelers sell or transfer their bookings transparently and fairly before check-in. It reduces no-shows and allows hotels to keep occupancy high while guests retain flexibility and even profit from reassigning their reservations. What people can use it for / how it makes tasks easier or safer
Hotels & real estate operators: can tokenize their rooms or properties into vaults and accept stablecoin (PYUSD) payments, ensuring price stability.
Travelers: can book, cancel, or transfer reservations easily on-chain without dealing with centralized intermediaries.
Security & transparency: built using Solidity, OpenZeppelin, and ReentrancyGuard, ensuring safe transactions.
Cross-chain support: contracts deployed on Ethereum Sepolia and Arbitrum Sepolia for broader access and scalability.
This system streamlines booking management, minimizes refund disputes, and introduces liquidity to otherwise locked reservations.
Challenges we ran into
The development required solving issues like:
Designing the auction logic — defining how a vault transitions through states (FREE → AUCTION → SETTLED).
Managing time windows for check-ins and bid periods to prevent late or invalid transactions.
Integrating PYUSD approvals and transfers smoothly to avoid UX friction.
Implementing security patterns (e.g., reentrancy prevention, input validation, and access control).
Each challenge improved the robustness and reliability of the contract system.

What is your product’s unique value proposition?
Auktrafi stands out as the first decentralized auction-based booking system.
Its key differentiator is the ability to transfer reservations — creating a secondary market for stays that benefits both hotels and travelers.
Unlike normal booking platforms, it redistributes value automatically among all parties (guest, hotel, and protocol) when a reservation is resold.
The use of stablecoins (PYUSD) and on-chain transparency ensures fairness and global accessibility.
Who is your target customer?
Primary audience: hotels, boutique lodgings, and short-stay property managers who want to improve occupancy and reduce cancellations.
Secondary audience: crypto-native travelers and flexible tourists interested in trading or reselling bookings.
It’s particularly attractive in high-demand markets where cancellations and price fluctuations are frequent.
Who are your closest competitors and how are you different?
Competitors:
Travala – focuses on crypto payments for hotels and flights, not on auctions or resellable bookings.
Dtravel – emphasizes decentralized property rentals, but lacks an integrated auction or transfer mechanism.
OpenTable (as analogy) – handles restaurant reservations, but not on-chain markets or tokenized bookings.
Auktrafi’s difference: programmable vaults per property, built-in auctions, and automatic revenue sharing using smart contracts and stablecoins.
What is your distribution strategy and why?
Auktrafi’s growth strategy combines:
B2B partnerships with hotels and real estate groups to tokenize inventory.
Integration with property management systems (PMS) to synchronize availability.
Community and event-driven onboarding, leveraging crypto ecosystems like ETHGlobal and local Web3 meetups for early adoption.
Word-of-mouth and referral incentives, rewarding both hotels and travelers for participation.
This dual-sided strategy builds liquidity while ensuring hotels have confidence in the system’s reliability.
