This app helps users transform big, abstract goals into actionable, concrete plans. Whether you want to start exercising, stop procrastinating, eat healthier, or form any other new habit, the app guides you through the process of breaking these broad goals into specific, achievable steps. It addresses the common struggle of feeling overwhelmed by large, distant goals and not knowing where or how to begin.

How It Makes Existing Tasks Easier/Safer:

  1. Goal Breakdown: By converting vague goals into clear, actionable steps, users no longer need to worry about the "how" of habit formation. The app provides a structured framework to ensure progress without getting stuck.

  2. Personalized Habit Plans: The app doesn’t just give generic advice. It uses the principles from Atomic Habits to create tailored plans that are aligned with the user’s identity and personal needs, making the process more intuitive and achievable.

  3. Environmental Design: The app educates users on how to adjust their environment to make habits easier to form or break, ensuring that the user’s surroundings work in their favor instead of against them.

  4. Behavioral Insights: By applying James Clear’s four laws of habit formation (make it obvious, attractive, easy, and satisfying), the app helps users create a system where habits become automatic and frictionless.

Ultimately, it makes the entire habit-building process less daunting and more actionable, allowing users to focus on doing rather than stressing over the “how.”

Challenges I ran into

One of the significant challenges I faced during development was integrating Gemini AI with the Next.js to dynamically create habit plans based on user input. Initially, the AI model struggled with parsing broad, high-level goals into actionable, specific steps. There were instances where the AI-generated plans didn’t align well with the principles of Atomic Habits, or the output wasn't adhering to the structure I defined in the prompt.
To overcome this I refined the prompt over and over by using ChatGPT and adding guardrails in the instructions.
