The problem ASTRA✨ solves
Before Astra, people struggled with turning their fashion idea into something real with limited capital.
We all know a creator with sketches or ideas for clothes, but no way to monetise them without upfront capital, production access, or a way to prove ownership.
On the flip side, shoppers want custom, made-for-me fashion and want to discover new and independent designers with proof of originality.
Astra flips this. It’s the first onchain fashion platform where anyone can:

We're solving a real consumer problem with web3 and AI.
Challenges we ran into
We've invented a new fashion UX, and it came with challenges.
Designers shouldn’t have to learn crypto to get paid. We had to abstract away wallets, gas, and chains — without losing the power of trustless payments and verifiable ownership.
Key challenges we solved:

Smart contract architecture: Implementing a secure proxy-based escrow system with upgradeability via delegatecalls — plus Base-specific quirks like event indexing and confirmations.

Wallet onboarding: Using Thirdweb smart wallets to let anyone join without seed phrases or upfront gas.

AI state management: Building a conversational agent that could process sketches, spoken ideas, or text prompts — and stay context-aware across multiple interactions.

Fulfillment logic: Creating the foundation for matching coiners with skilled makers based on location, quantity, and production time — and tying it to milestone-based payouts.
Every layer — from voice input to wallet payout — had to feel simple and natural. We’re proud of the balance we struck.
What we’ll do next if we are one of the winners:

Onboard African makers
Launch a pilot network of verified tailors starting in Nigeria. We’ll build onboarding tools and help match them to paid drop requests. -
Supercharge our AI design agent
Fine-tune how prompts become listings: better shipping estimates, pricing suggestions, and spec generation. -
Drop QR-authenticated fashion onchain
Every sale will include a digital certificate minted on Base. Buyers get proof of originality, and creators can earn resale royalties in the future.
We believe fashion is crypto’s best shot at real-world virality.
With this grant, we’ll prove it. One iconic fit at a time starting from Nigeria, Africa.
