Aruna addresses the stress and mental health challenges faced by many people in India. With busy lifestyles, work pressures, and other daily stresses, people often feel overwhelmed and struggle to find ways to relax and take care of their mental well-being.
Additionally, there's a growing interest in holistic health practices like Ayurveda, but accessing these resources can be difficult. Aruna brings together art and Ayurveda in a simple, accessible way, providing a solution for stress relief, creativity, and holistic health. It's a sanctuary where people can unwind, express themselves, and learn practices to improve their mental and emotional health, all within the reach of their fingertips. It nurtures ancient Indian wellness habits like yoga, meditation, healthy and natural eating, by encouraging users to make incorporate these in their daily routines in form of micro-habits.
In today's age of social media, millenials are always living under the pressure to overachieve and overperform, which makes them forget about the true essence of a simple and healthy life, Aruna not only aims to promote wellness, but also encouarges users to express themselves in any art form that makes them feel heard and seen, and make people rise above meaningless scrolling and engage in creative and resourceful activities.
Aruna also has a track progress feature that enables users to keep a check on their wellness activities like: Yoga, Meditattion, Mindful Eating, and Creative Activities, on a calendar, and displays on a progress bar.
During the development of Aruna, we encountered several challenges. One significant obstacle was learning and implementing new technology stacks. As we aimed to create a seamless and user-friendlyweb app, we needed to incorporate the latest tools and frameworks, which required our team to quickly adapt and become proficient in these new technologies.
Another challenge was ensuring access to high-quality resources. Whether it was content for the art hubs, guided meditations, or yoga sessions, sourcing reliable and engaging material was essential to the success of our platform. This involvedresearch and curation to deliver content that resonated with our users.
Additionally, time constraints posed a constant pressure throughout the project. Balancing development timelines, content creation, and testing phases required meticulous planning and prioritization. We had to remain agile and flexible, and decide on the most viable product features.
Despite these challenges, our team remained dedicated and focused on our mission to create a valuable and impactful platform for mental wellness and bring Aruna to life, empowering individuals across India to prioritize their mental health and well-being.
