Problem Solved by the ArtGridz Access Pass Canvas
ArtGridz introduces a solution for on-chain pixel art, distinct from typical NFTs by ensuring complete blockchain integration. This guarantees the permanence and security of every artwork state without relying on third-party services like IPFS.
Pixel changes are recorded directly on the blockchain through smart contract events, preserving the integrity of each creation.
How It Works
Users engage with ArtGridz through the Access Pass by purchasing time-units (0.001 ETH for 5 minutes or, for holders of the Guest-NFT, 10 minutes per unit). Participants not only compete for ETH rewards but also experience ArtGridz's pioneering on-chain pixel art technology. The initiative is a soft-launch of the ArtGridz/GRIDZ ecosystem.
AccessPass NFT
The finalized artwork becomes the AccessPass NFT, granting entry into our comprehensive token ecosystem. This ecosystem revolves around collaborative on-chain pixel art features, periodically transforming into NFTs. This boosts the Annual Percentage Yield (APY) for the GRIDZ Token & enables the monetization of creations with GRIDZ through CustomGridz.
Unlock Token-Gated Features
Features gated by tokens necessitate burning tokens. Our approach includes Rotations, where 90% of burned tokens return to active users, while the remaining 10% is permanently removed. This design promotes scalable and sustainable growth of the ecosystem.
The Value Proposition
ArtGridz functions as a "Truth Machine," faithfully capturing every artistic expression. Its blockchain architecture ensures the ability to revert to any previous state of pixel art, accruing historical value over time.
Our primary aim is to simply educate users on the benefits of blockchain data storage — permanence and immutability — and to incentivize continual creation of genuine on-chain pixel art through scalable reward systems.

Overcoming Hurdles in Building ArtGridz:
Building ArtGridz has been a challenging yet rewarding journey. Over the past year, I bootstrapped the project, refining the reward mechanisms for maximum scalability, making everything fully automated for full trustlessness and optimizing the onboarding process several times.
Refining the Reward Mechanisms:
I realized the initial reward mechanisms were not scalable. By stepping back, writing a detailed plan for my code, and starting from scratch, I managed to build a more robust system & even ended up adding a new feature: CustomGridz, which wouldn't exist if I didn't take the time to rebuild my project from scratch & commiting to improve it to align with my vision 100%.
Switching Frameworks:
I transitioned my project from web3.js to Thirdweb, significantly boosting my efficiency and equipping me with essential skills to develop dApps.
Converting Testnet Users to Mainnet Participants:
Transitioning users from testnet to mainnet was a significant hurdle. This challenge prompted a complete revamp of the platform, making the onboarding process smoother and more intuitive.
Scams and Real-Life Connections:
In my quest to market ArtGridz, I encountered and had to doge several scams online that tried to harm the project. However, attending an in-person event in Berlin taught me the value of face-to-face connections, which are far more genuine and productive.
Optimizing the $GRIDZ Token Contract:
The $GRIDZ token contract is 99% ready to launch ,but I faced an issue: code size exeeds limit introduced in Spurious Dragon. Currently, I am letting the community decide which feature should be removed. This obstacle led to a quick redesign of the concept into a minigame to break the project down to its core. I decided to launch this minigame while improving the GRIDZ contracts size.
The Result
This journey has not only refined the technology behind ArtGridz but also taught me invaluable lessons in perseverance and adaptability.
