Art Lend Sphere
Incentivizing digital art collectors, curators and galleries via decentralized borrow and lend platform.
The problem Art Lend Sphere solves
Digital art, specifically NFT-based art, still struggles to embrace the incentivization models present in contemporary, modern, and classical art exhibition practices.
There are many interesting blockchain token borrow/lending platforms, such as PWN. We propose to use and extend the ecosystem of their contracts to provide borrowing and lending possibilities tailored to the needs of art galleries and collectors.
One example of a customized contract condition would be the ability for the lender to interrupt the lease.
In our experience, branding and UX/UI play an important role in the technology adoption within a user base that is not strictly techno-curious but is rather interested in aesthetics and ease of use. We are approaching the PWN ecosystem as a B2B solution and making it accessible to art galleries and collectors.
Customized lending contracts are one part of the spectrum of possible solutions that can be offered by the Art Lend Sphere platform. Additionally, the platform can provide display solutions that tackle the common issues of exhibiting NFTs – customized, high-quality displays with information overlays that provide up-to-date information about the ownership of the token.
Challenges we ran into
Main challange, obiously was the time, as we were team of two who met here at the hackathon, it took us long to formulate the goals of the project.
Particular tasks, such as deplyoing the contracts from PWN open-source repository to new chain – Zircuit in our case, even though well documented were time and attention consuming.
We tried to follow principles of agile developement to avoid running out of time half-way.
We've reached out to three NFT art curators with experience of exhibiting in galleries, deeper dialogs with them and conducting a wider user study would allow us to articualte the design proposal and address real-world needs.
