AR Social: Where Creativity Meets Reality with No Code Limits.
The problem ar.social solves
In a digital age where social connections are becoming increasingly strained, and e-commerce dominates the market, our AR social media application steps in to bridge the gap. By seamlessly merging Augmented Reality (AR) with social networking, we offer users a groundbreaking solution to rekindle social interactions and rejuvenate brick-and-mortar businesses.
Enhancing Social Interaction
Our mobile application empowers users to leave AR notes, images, and videos at diverse global locations, fostering deeper engagement with their surroundings and with other users. This implies peoples interpersonal skills and in turn mental health improves. This means connecting with friends in an entirely new way and leaving a digital mark on the real world.
Empowering Creators
We provide creators with a dedicated platform to craft their AR experiences, and we make it easy with a web-based, no-code tool. There's no need to be a coding expert; anyone can dive in and create immersive AR content. While there's no separate website for accessing the social media or AR experiences, our user-friendly web interface makes everything accessible.
Two Modes for AR Brilliance
Creators have two distinctive modes for crafting AR content:
-
Geospatial Mode: Pinpoint locations on a map using GPS coordinates, creating a seamless blend of virtual and physical worlds. This mode is perfect for businesses looking to attract foot traffic and engage customers in a whole new way.
-
Localized Mode: Edit AR content with ease using the web-based no-code tool, leveraging 3D scans of your environment. This innovative approach enhances online experiences and revitalizes offline businesses.
Challenges we ran into
We faced many issues for connecting the application into a pipeline which lets the app stream the assets from a server and this asset needs to be uploaded into server, this proved to be very challenging for us in connecting these pipeline. Also we faced a big issue of creating localized experience which requires an LIDAR Sensor enabled device which is expensive and had to search for. AR has Localization issues while building. Also very less resources and community support available for ARCore made it difficult to work with. We managed to partly solve many of the issues by learning more into the code base pf each SDK and libraries we used.
