The problem Ardena Finance solves

Description of your solution
🏦 Ardena Finance — Smart DeFi Vaults for Automated Portfolio Management

Ardena Finance is a decentralized asset management protocol that allows investors to earn optimized, risk-adjusted yields across multiple DeFi strategies — automatically.
The platform simplifies DeFi investing by combining index-style portfolios, automated rebalancing, and transparent yield tracking into a single, smart vault system.

Users can deposit stablecoins (like USDC) into automated vaults, which then allocate funds across multiple strategies such as Aave lending, Uniswap liquidity provision, and other yield sources, based on predefined risk and return models.
The vaults continuously rebalance and reinvest profits to maintain target allocations and maximize yield — all while the user retains full transparency and on-chain control of their funds.

By eliminating the need for manual yield chasing or portfolio rebalancing, Ardena Finance acts as a “DeFi index fund”, offering users a simple, secure, and efficient way to grow their crypto assets.

⸻

💡 Core Value Proposition
• Automated DeFi investing: One deposit, diversified across multiple yield sources.
• Dynamic rebalancing: Smart contracts automatically rebalance based on strategy performance and target weights.
• Investor protection: Transparent on-chain logic with role-based access and configurable fees.
• Composability: Easily integrate future strategies (e.g., Compound, Lido, Pendle) without redeploying the vault.
• Institutional scalability: Built for DAOs, asset managers, and funds to offer tokenized yield products.

Challenges I ran into

🧩 Challenge: Handling Accurate Vault Share-to-Asset Conversion

While building Ardena Finance, one major hurdle was ensuring the ERC-4626 share logic (convertToAssets() and convertToShares()) reflected the true total assets across multiple strategies — especially when yield from Aave or Uniswap positions was compounding in real-time.

Initially, the vault over- or under-calculated shares when new deposits occurred after interest accrual in strategies, leading to unfair share issuance or inflated redemptions.

⸻

⚙️ Root Cause

The issue came from the fact that strategies like Aave V3 continuously accrue interest (via aToken balance), while Uniswap V3 yields fluctuate with price and fees.
When the vault queried totalAssets() at deposit or withdrawal, it was not accurately reflecting the dynamic state of all strategies.

⸻

✅ Solution

I redesigned the logic to:
1. Call each strategy’s totalAssets() live before minting or burning shares.
2. Standardize all strategy returns to the base token using Chainlink Oracles for consistent valuation.
3. Introduce a more precise deposit formula that uses pre-deposit totalAssets() to ensure fair share minting.

⸻

💡 Result

This fix made the vault mathematically fair across all deposits and withdrawals — regardless of accrued yield timing — and aligned the system perfectly with ERC-4626 standards, ensuring compatibility and trustless accuracy for users.
