Challenges I ran into
🛠️ Building ArcticCart came with its fair share of hurdles, especially when integrating blockchain and Web3 technology. Here’s a breakdown of some key challenges and the solutions that helped us push forward.
- Smart Contract Bugs 🐞
The Challenge: Writing smart contracts on the Neo X blockchain turned out to be a bit trickier than we expected. There were issues with transaction verification and ownership transfers, which would randomly cause errors. It felt like we were always fixing one bug just to find another!
Our Solution: We hit the testnet hard, running lots of trial transactions to catch as many bugs as possible without risking real assets. NeoContract’s debugging tools saved us here, letting us pinpoint and fix specific issues in the code. After some tries , we finally got things running smoothly!
- Getting MetaMask to Play Nice with Neo X 🔗
The Challenge: MetaMask works easily with Ethereum, but connecting it to Neo X took some serious configuration! We found that Neo X didn’t support all of MetaMask’s default features, and some connections just weren’t reliable.
Our Solution: We dived deep into Neo X's documentation to create a custom bridge that would allow MetaMask to handle Neo X transactions seamlessly. After testing different approaches, we finally got it working with smooth wallet connections for users.
