The problem Arcade solves

Creating augmented reality experiences from scratch requires in-depth know-how of every stage of design, development, and the tools associated with it (ex. 3D modeling software, game engines, etc). Specialized platforms like SparkAR studio from Facebook and Snapchat’s Lens Studio simplify the process but restrict the user to the channel of their own. By choosing web as a platform for creating as well as publishing we were able to drive engagement from any desired platform. This product aims to overcome every technological barrier by making it extremely simple for users to create, remix, and share AR art right from their mobile devices without the need to download multiple software and spend unnecessary hours learning them.

Challenges we ran into

Arcade studio being first of its kind, it was extremely difficult to craft a user experience that was seamless for mobile devices. Lack of peripherals like Keyboard/Mouse and entire dependence on touch and gestures, incorporating an editor for 3D without losing on the functionality required a substantial amount of brainstorming. Moreover, WebXR being relatively new, we ran into some errors and limitations occasionally.
