The problem BetBlock solves

One of our teammates was on Etherscan exploring some transactions and saw an advertisement for Stake.com, which was offering a 200% bonus on the first deposit. When our teammate deposited 120 USDT, the platform credited him with 360 USDT in total.

However, he was shocked to discover that he could only bet $1 per game in the Play Plinko Online - Pachinko Casino Game and was unable to increase the betting amount due to the bonus restrictions. While exploring other games, he realized that the platform had cheated him using the concept of wager limits.

When he attempted to withdraw his money, he was shown a rule list that required him to wager $12,300 worth of gameplay to be eligible for withdrawal. After getting a mathematical explanation from their live support, he spent the entire night playing Plinko ultimately losing all the money.

Frustrated and disappointed, BetBlock was born - a platform designed to blend GameFi and DeFi where users can gamble safely, transparently, and securely without falling for such deceptive tactics. BetBlock also aims to solve many of the issues prevalent in traditional gaming platforms.

• Users can create AI-generated NFT profile pictures based on keywords.

• Includes a fully functional European Roulette game.
• Players can place various types of bets: straight, split, street, corner, six line, column, dozen, red, black, high, low, even, and odd.
• The roulette wheel, powered by Chainlink VRF, randomly generates winning values.
• Winnings are automatically calculated and transferred to user wallets using Chainlink Automation.

• Users can deposit any tokens from any chain as collateral to borrow LINK.
• Facilitates gameplay without needing to sell existing holdings.
• Uses Chainlink Data Feeds to fetch real-time asset prices and calculate the maximum borrowable amount.

🛠️ How We Built It

BetBlock was developed using a combination of Chainlink services and modern blockchain technologies:

• MicroGPT + Chainlink Functions: Used to mint NFTs on Polygon with DALL-E3.
• IPFS Server: Custom-built to store NFTs and metadata, integrated with internal API to reduce cost and improve performance.
• Chainlink VRF: Ensures fair and random outcomes in the roulette game.
• Chainlink Automation: Automates roulette spins, calculates winnings, and handles payouts.
• Chainlink CCIP: Enables cross-chain transfers and communication across different blockchain networks.
• Chainlink Data Feeds: Fetches the latest token prices for lending and UI display.
• Frontend: Built using Next.js, JavaScript, Tailwind CSS.
• Smart Contracts: Written in Solidity and Cosmos Wasm.
• Wallet Support: Integrates with MetaMask and other EVM-compatible wallets.

Challenges I ran into

• Setting up the DeFi part also posed challenges, as we contemplated creating our own platform token.
• Integration of Multiple Chainlink Services: Ensuring seamless integration of Chainlink Functions, VRF, Automation, and Data Feeds required careful planning and testing and understanding Chainlink routers and supported chains was initially difficult.
• Time constraints did not allowed us for implementing gasless transactions but we prioritized delivering a functional and reliable platform.
• Cross-Chain Compatibility: Deploying smart contracts across multiple chains and ensuring smooth interoperability was a complex task that demanded thorough testing and troubleshooting.
