AppShield - fake app detector

using link fake app detector

The problem AppShield - fake app detector solves

🔹 Step 1: Define Your Goal

Your app AppShield should:

Take a link (from an ad/social media).

Analyze it → Is it Safe ✅ or Fraud ❌.

Allow users to report fraud links (saved locally or in database).

Display fraud history and tips for safe browsing.

🔹 Step 2: Set Up Your Project

Create a folder named AppShield.

Inside, make 3 files:

index.html → structure (UI elements).

style.css → design (dark theme, colorful).

script.js → logic (fraud detection, reporting).

🔹 Step 3: Build the Features

Input box → User pastes link.

Check button → Runs JS logic:

If suspicious (shortened link, no https, strange domain) → ❌ Fraud.

Otherwise → ✅ Safe.

Report button → User can mark link as fraud.

Save into localStorage (simple) or database (advanced).

History section → Show all reported fraud links.

Extra options (for hackathon bonus):

Add "Switch Theme" (Dark/Light mode).

Add "Security Tips" (like “Always check for HTTPS”).

Add "About AppShield" page.

🔹 Step 4: Improve Design

Use modern dark UI with neon green + red highlights.

Add animations (button hover, fade-in results).

Use your AppShield logo as favicon + branding.

🔹 Step 5: Pitch/Demo Preparation

For hackathon, prepare a 2-3 minute demo:

Explain the problem: “Fraud ads on social media trick users.”

Show how AppShield detects fraud.

Report a fraud link → check history.

End with vision: “AppShield protects users and builds safer online ads.
