AnnonyShare: Empowering Voices in the Decentralized Web
The problem AnnonyShare solves
AnnonyShare provides a transformative solution for individuals and communities facing barriers to raising concerns. It allows users to anonymously report issues without fear of retaliation, ensuring their privacy through zk-proof-based verification with Anon Aadhaar. Whether addressing workplace harassment, civic grievances, or systemic problems, AnnonyShare empowers individuals to voice their concerns in a secure, decentralized environment. By removing the influence of centralized authorities, it fosters a democratic and transparent platform for collective action. The integration of AI-powered severity attestation further enhances its utility by prioritizing critical issues, ensuring that the most pressing matters receive timely attention.
The platform also simplifies tasks like identity verification and gated access through selective data disclosure, making interactions safer and more efficient. By leveraging Walrus for decentralized storage, AnnonyShare ensures secure and cost-efficient management of unstructured data, such as user-submitted media. With its community-driven engagement mechanisms, users can like, dislike, or amplify concerns, promoting meaningful discussions and actionable outcomes. AnnonyShare not only makes it easier to report, validate, and address issues but also builds trust and transparency by enabling decentralized decision-making through consensus-driven governance.
Challenges we ran into
During the development of AnnonyShare, we encountered several challenges that tested our problem-solving skills and adaptability
- Lack of Structured Technical Documentation: Some tools and technologies lacked clear, well-organized documentation, making integration and troubleshooting challenging.
- Okto Wallet Integration Issues: Implementing Okto wallet was difficult due to limited resources and unclear guidelines.
- Base Wallet Complexity: Integrating the Base wallet required significant effort and expertise, as the process was not straightforward.
- Walrus API Key Management: Finding and managing Walrus API keys was unintuitive and required additional exploration.
- Anon Aadhaar Authentication Challenges: Understanding and implementing zk-proofs for Anon Aadhaar authentication involved a steep learning curve due to its technical complexity.
Additional Features
Since AnnonyShare was built entirely from scratch during the hackathon, every feature and functionality was developed as part of the hackathon itself. We focused on creating a decentralized platform for raising concerns with full privacy and transparency. This included integrating zk-proof-based Anon Aadhaar authentication for secure identity verification, AI-powered severity attestation for assessing the gravity of issues, and decentralized storage via Walrus to ensure cost-efficient and secure management of user data. Additionally, we implemented engagement mechanisms like liking, disliking, and amplifying concerns, as well as a community-driven voting and decision-making system for transparent, collective action. Every aspect of the platform, from architecture to functionality, was developed during the hackathon.
