This not only represents a significant loss of resources but also contributes to environmental issues, such as increased greenhouse gas emissions from decomposing food in landfills. Annapurna provides a platform for food donors to easily share surplus food, reducing waste and promoting sustainability.
Many individuals and families face food insecurity, struggling to access nutritious meals. This problem is exacerbated in urban areas where the visibility of hunger may be masked. Annapurna connects those who have excess food with those who need it, ensuring that no one goes hungry due to a lack of resources.
