Bridge of Need

The problem Annapurna solves

A sample metropolitan city a total of 150 tons of food is wasted every day. The sources of this food
includes hotels, messes, street food shops and vendors, hospitals and rich and middle class homes.
According to FAO, 189.2 million people are undernourished in India. This constitutes 14% of the total
Indian population. For the sake of the problem at hand, since it is a metropolitan city, we can takt 18% of
the population of this particular city to be undernourished. Here we also need to map out the areas where
people are living below poverty line and takt a survey of their easy intake of food.
Donating to the needy not just benefits the recipient, it also benefits the donor in improving the physical,
psychological, emotional and spiritual well-being. However, you need to do your research about the
charitable organizations that share the same interest as yours.
There are many things we like to think we can’t go without, like luxury items and the latest technology.
Then there are things that we absolutely need but often take for granted. One of those things is the three
square meals we have each morning, afternoon, and evening.
Donating food we don’t need to the less fortunate benefits the overall well-being of our communities in
more ways than we may realize.
