Animal Guard – Problem Solved & Usage
Problem 1: Animal Intrusion into Villages
Wild animals like elephants and wild boars often enter villages and farms near forests.
This leads to crop loss and danger to human life.
Problem 2: Manual Monitoring
In traditional systems, forest officers must collect camera footage manually and watch it later.
This causes delayed action and increases risk.
Problem 3: No Real-Time Alerts
Existing camera systems only record video but do not provide immediate warnings when animals appear.
Problem 4: Power Wastage
Cameras run continuously, consuming high battery and requiring frequent maintenance in remote forest areas.
How Animal Guard Helps
Real-Time Detection
Motion sensors detect movement first and activate cameras only when needed.
Automatic Alerts
The system instantly sends alerts to villagers and forest officers when dangerous animals are detected
Safety for People and Animals
Siren warns people early and helps prevent direct human–animal conflicts.
Energy Efficient Monitoring
Reduces unnecessary camera usage, saving battery and enabling solar-powered operation
Challenges we ran into
Camera Power Consumption
Cameras consumed high battery when running continuously.
This reduced backup time in remote forest areas
Solution:
We introduced a motion-sensor-based trigger so the camera turns ON only when movement is detected.
Power Management for Outdoor Deployment
Selecting a battery that is safe and long-lasting was a challenge.
Lithium batteries were risky in high temperatures.
Solution:
We chose LiFePO₄ batteries for better safety, stability, and long cycle life
