The problem Animal Intrusion Detection System (Elephant) solves

Agriculture is the primary source of livelihood for about 58% of India's population and it is the backbone of our Indian Economy. Nowadays, we are hearing news about the crop and agricultural lands damaged by the animals. Especially invasion of species like elephants came to the forest in search of food, water and shelter causes damage to agricultural lands which results in crop damage, and that ended up in the human-animal conflict. As per the reports and statistics crop raiding occurs in more than 5000 occurrences every year on average. Especially states like TamilNadu accounst more than 7000 cases per year
It is real-world problem to be addressed here.

Preventing animal trespassing into agricultural and forest regions is undoubtedly a difficulty for both farmers and forest authorities. Animal invasions into forests and agricultural fields have caused damage on crops, farmland, and cultivated areas, resulting in massive losses for farmers. To address this issue, we can build an animal intrusion system that will prohibit animals from trespassing.

Detecting animal intrusion using image processing will help the system to send out an alert to the residents nearby and take precautions. This kind of real-time alert can avoid animal accidents and also can help the residents take quick actions to solve the situation and prevent farms and crop damage . The users are also able to view the activity logs in the log app which displays the captured frames of the elephant

Challenges we ran into

The Challanges which we have faced are intergration are :

-Acessing firebase meta data
-Choosing the right pre-trained model
-Image Processing Speed
-Setting up the environment for matterport

We have refered multiple blogs, articles , youtube tutorials and discussion forum to overcome tha above mentioned issue and we came up with solution for our problem statement
