The problem Mama Wallet solves

The current state of crypto wallets on the Flow network presents two significant challenges

• Extension wallets and mobile wallets like Flipper and Lilico are usability hurdles for regular individuals, making it difficult for them to navigate the complex steps involved in wallet creation, setup, depositing funds, and using the wallet for transactions
• Dapper and Blocto wallet offer a user-friendly experience, but it's not an open-source project and relies on the centralized solution to manage the wallet.

To address these challenges, we propose the development of a two-component system: AANodes and Mama Wallet on the Flow Network, inspired by the best practices from Torus and the Mama Cloud Wallet.

• AANodes - Decentralized Key Management: The decentralized nodes that manage keys and verify permissions from users. Drawing inspiration from the non-custodial key management system of Torus, AANodes will decentralize the storage of user keys across various nodes. This system ensures that users maintain control over their private keys while enhancing the overall security of their assets. Importantly, AANodes can manage keys for any wallet, not just the Mama Wallet, broadening its applicability and utility in the ecosystem.
• Mama Wallet - User-Friendly Access and Interoperability: Building on top of the AANodes, the Mama Wallet aims to make the Flow Network accessible to normal users by introducing a user-friendly interface, the wallet minimizes the technical knowledge required, encouraging new users to engage with the Flow Network. The wallet will also support easy sign-up and sign-in through various social accounts, attracting a broader user base.

Challenges we ran into

During the development of our Mama project, we faced a significant challenge related to limited documentation for Torus and Mama Cloud Wallet. Despite Torus being open source, the available documentation didn't sufficiently cover all our project requirements. This obstacle required us to spend an extensive five-month period researching, analyzing code, and creating diagrams to gain a comprehensive understanding.

To overcome this hurdle, we immersed ourselves in the source code, meticulously dissecting and modifying it to align with our project's needs. Despite the time-consuming nature of this process, we remained dedicated to acquiring the expertise necessary to build our Mama demo successfully.

In summary, the challenge we encountered was the lack of comprehensive documentation for Torus and Mama Cloud Wallet. To overcome this, we invested a significant amount of time in research, code analysis, and modification to meet our project requirements.
