The problem AirBase - AirDrop crypto seamlessly solves

AirBase revolutionizes the way cryptocurrencies are sent and received by simplifying the process and enhancing security. Traditionally, exchanging crypto required sharing complex wallet addresses or scanning QR codes, which could be cumbersome and prone to errors. AirBase eliminates these steps by allowing users to transfer crypto as easily as sharing a photo via Airdrop. This not only makes transactions quicker but also significantly reduces the chance of sending funds to the wrong address.

Additionally, AirBase leverages Bluetooth and Wi-Fi via Google Nearby to securely discover and connect with nearby users, ensuring that wallet addresses are not exposed to potential security risks. This feature is particularly advantageous in settings with limited internet connectivity, allowing users to engage in crypto transactions without needing a stable connection. This approach opens up new possibilities for crypto usage in everyday commerce, especially in less developed areas where internet services are unreliable.

The current App is built on iOS, but the architecture makes it possible to build a Native Android app easily, and can work across platforms with each other.

Challenges we ran into

• Secure Transmission: Integrating Google Nearby to ensure public addresses are sent securely.
• Technology Selection and Adaption: Searching for the right technology involved great effort to assess and shortlist among multiple technologies. Adapting Google Nearby to fit our needs required meticulous attention to security and operational details.
