A low cost highly effective indoor air quality monitoring system which measures CO2,Ozone ,Voc ,Pm 2.5 levels and monitors temperature and humidity .

The problem AIR QUALITY MONITORING SYSTEM solves

Air pollution is one of environmental issues that cannot be ignored. Inhaling pollutants for a long
time causes damages in human health. Traditional air quality monitoring methods, such as
building air quality monitoring stations, are typically expensive. Only city corporations can afford
such expensive monitoring systems whereas small scale industries do not have the possibility to
access such systems . As an alternative ,we have developed a low cost highly effective
monitoring system which is very much economical.
Real-time monitoring of the air quality is possible with this project. Our objective is to create a
tool that measures air quality and displays it as a %, measures carbon dioxide(CO) , PM 2.5,
VOC, and ozone levels, and measures temperature and displays it as a degree Celsius.

This Project will be very much useful for patients with respiratory diseases like
Asthma,Bronchitis,Lung Infections and to people working in industries.Continuous exposure to
pollutants can cause diseases and in such situations our system would be highly effective by
alerting them whenever the pollutants level goes beyond threshold value.

Challenges we ran into

Our project consists of a survey regarding pollutant levels in industries. We had some difficulties in assesing the complete survey. Moreover we had programmed using Arduino Pro Mini wherein we had errors in wiriting the code. The sensors are interfaced with a Nextion Display such that the values are displayed for 24 hours. There were some major problems in interfacing the display and it was solved by changing the serial port.
