THE WHY?
In today's digital age, deepfake images and videos present a significant threat to both personal and public integrity. These highly sophisticated AI-generated media can depict individuals in scenarios they have never been involved in, leading to potential reputational damage, false accusations, and even legal issues. This creates a critical need for a robust, transparent, and tamper-proof solution to identify and flag deepfakes before they cause irreparable harm.
Key challenges:
-Deepfake Threats to Integrity: Individualsโ reputations can be irreparably damaged by false media that show them doing things they have never done.
-Lack of Trust in Media: As deepfakes grow more convincing, it becomes increasingly difficult to trust visual media, raising concerns about the validity of content.
-Image Theft and Unauthorized Usage: Content creators often face issues with image theft, where their original content is reposted without permission.
-Complex Reporting Process: Existing mechanisms for reporting deepfakes and unoriginal content are slow and prone to errors, further complicating the fight against misinformation.
UNIQUE VALUE PROPOSITION

Challenges we ran into
We struggled with finding how to fully decentralise our data model, and when we finally did find the way moving forward - which is to use ICP canisters to host and run our models, we weren't able to upload it. After hours of trying, we finally managed to.
We also faced challenges in doing research and ideation. We always wanted to think of something that can make a real impact to the real world, we kept rethinking problem statements, and try to leverage our understanding of Artificial Intelligence, as most of us are currently studying Computer Science with AI. We burnt through at least 5 different ideas and scratched them down.
The most obvious challenge we went into was time constraint, it was extremely difficult for us to complete an MVP, with full stack functionality and we even had to host an AI model on the internet computer blockchain. Sleepless nights and two-dozen cans of redbulls were sacrificed.
It was a fun experience nonetheless, we each had our strengths and weaknesses but had to work together to squeeze everything we're able to into this project.
