Challenges I ran into
Challenges We Ran Into
1. Data Availability
• Not every campus has a centralized database for events, notes, or discounts.
• Solution → Started with fake but realistic sample data from a few colleges.
2. Scalability
• Each college has its own food joints, events, and quirks.
• Challenge: how to scale across all colleges while keeping it hyper-local.
• Solution → Designed a flexible data layer (easy to plug in new campuses).
3. Student ID Verification
• Challenge: How to unlock global + local discounts while keeping it safe.
• Solution → For demo, used mock verification → real-world, would integrate with .edu emails or campus systems.
4. AI Tone
• Regular AI replies felt too robotic.
• Solution → Prompt engineered it to “talk like a funny senior” using emojis, short lines, and casual slang.
5. Time Crunch
• Hackathon deadlines → limited time to implement all features.
• Solution → Focused on demo-ready flow: Chat, Events, Discounts, Directory.
