The problem Agrolink solves
Agrolink is a platform that connects farmers directly with buyers, eliminating intermediaries and ensuring fair prices for agricultural produce. It provides real-time market insights, easy logistics tracking, and a secure payment gateway, making transactions efficient and transparent. Additionally, the platform uses deep learning for quality assessment, allowing farmers to upload photos of their produce to evaluate quality and get an estimated market value.
Challenges I ran into
One of the major challenges was integrating real-time price updates from multiple market sources while ensuring data accuracy. We overcame this by using a robust API system combined with data validation techniques. Another hurdle was designing a user-friendly interface for farmers with varying levels of digital literacy. We addressed this by including multilingual support and simplifying the user workflow. For the quality assessment feature, training the deep learning model to handle diverse environmental conditions (e.g., lighting, background noise) was difficult. We solved this by using an extensive dataset and applying data augmentation techniques to improve model accuracy.
