So here's the thing, I’m joining Based SEA because I’ve seen how hard it is for farmers in Indonesia to access funding especially in rural place. My dad used to tell me stories about his farmer friends, and they always struggled with getting enough capital to improve their production. That’s why I want to create a solution that not only helps farmers secure funding easily but also brings transparency through blockchain, so every transaction is safe and clear. Plus, I want to onboard more people onto the blockchain, making it easier for them to understand and engage with this tech.
I’m focusing on the challenge of limited access to funding for farmers in my community. Many of them struggle to secure loans or financial support due to a lack of trust in traditional lending institutions, and the process is often complicated and difficult. When they do have options, they often turn to loan sharks, which charge extreme interest rates. With the help of Base, I aim to create a blockchain-based lending platform that provides farmers with easier access to capital while ensuring that investors can see exactly where their money is going. This approach not only makes funding more accessible but also helps educate the community about on-chain opportunities, making it easier for everyone to get involved.
My project addresses the funding challenges faced by farmers by creating a blockchain-based lending platform that connects them directly with investors. By cutting out traditional financial institutions, we simplify the lending process, making it faster and more accessible for farmers. This platform will allow farmers to present their needs and projects transparently, enabling investors to see where their money goes and how it’s being used. The impact could be huge. Farmers will get the funds they need to expand and improve their work, while investors can support local agriculture and see their money make a difference. Plus, by bringing more people into the blockchain world, we can help them learn about decentralized finance and technology.
Limited Understanding of Blockchain Technology, At the start, I faced challenges with grasping the technical aspects of blockchain. It felt overwhelming trying to figure out how to implement smart contracts to frontend, Understanding the regulatory landscape for cryptocurrency and lending in Indonesia was tricky. There were concerns about compliance and potential legal issues. Creating a user-friendly interface was a challenge, especially for farmers who might not be tech-savvy. I wanted to ensure that the platform was easy to navigate.
