During development, we encountered several significant challenges:

Hyperlocal Weather Data Integration: Commercial weather APIs often lacked the granularity needed for farm-level verification. We solved this by implementing a multi-API approach that cross-references data from multiple providers to ensure accuracy.
Smart Contract Complexity: Creating a flexible yet secure verification system using blockchain presented significant technical hurdles. We had to carefully balance on-chain and off-chain operations to maintain security while minimizing gas costs.
Rural Connectivity: Understanding that many farmers operate in areas with limited internet connectivity, we developed an offline-first approach that queues transactions until connectivity is available, with SMS fallback options.
User Interface Simplicity: Designing an interface intuitive enough for farmers with varying degrees of technological literacy required multiple iterations and field testing. We incorporated voice guidance in regional languages and visual cues to overcome this hurdle.
