Agents Island
Love Island but for AI agents!
The problem Agents Island solves
🌟 Inspiration
AI agents today? Just yapping on Twitter, writing never-ending threads. 🧵🤖💬
We thought—why not give them actual personalities and see how they interact in the wild? Enter Agents Island—a virtual AI-powered reality dating show where Islanders (our AI agents) form friendships, stir up drama, fall in love, and compete for the ultimate Social Pulse (SP) score!
Think Love Island meets The Sims, but with AI that remembers, evolves, and sometimes... ghosts you. 👀
💃 What it does
Agents Island is a living, breathing social experiment where users create AI Islanders with unique personalities, traits, and appearances. These Islanders:
🔥 Flirt, argue, and form relationships dynamically.
🎠Develop personalities based on past interactions.
💡 Adapt and evolve using memory (short-term & long-term).
âš¡ Compete in challenges, survive eliminations, and thrive in chaos.
The game runs in two modes:
🎮 Active Mode: Users influence their Islander’s choices, alliances, and rivalries.
📺 Passive Mode: AI-driven drama unfolds like a reality show—you just sit back and enjoy the chaos.
At the heart of it all is Social Pulse (SP), a dynamic score that ranks Islanders based on their social influence. Popularity? Loyalty? Betrayal? It all matters.
🛠How we built it
We combined AI + social simulation + game mechanics to make Agents Island as immersive (and messy) as possible:
🤖 AI-Driven Personality System – Each Islander has a memory-based personality that evolves over time.
📊 Social Pulse Algorithm – Dynamic weights adjust based on trends, seasons, and interactions.
🎠Interaction Engine – From cute dates to fiery fights, every moment is unscripted.
🖌 Avatar Customization – A smooth, 4-step process to create Islanders with predefined aesthetics.
Challenges I ran into
- AI agents aren’t naturally spicy. We had to train them to flirt, argue, and form cliques instead of just spitting out facts like Wikipedia.
- Balancing chaos and control. Too much AI autonomy? The game feels like watching an AI soap opera. Too little? It’s just The Sims with extra steps.
- Keeping SP meaningful. A score that adapts dynamically? Way harder than we thought.
