The problem AgentIndex solves

AgentIndex is a purpose-built explorer for the ERC-8004 on-chain agent registry. Existing explorers weren't designed to surface the domain-specific data ERC-8004 encodes - agent metadata, reputation, feedback, trust relationships, and crucially, the services and capabilities agents advertise. All of that gets buried in raw transaction logs and encoded URIs.

AgentIndex solves this by decoding and contextualizing everything into a readable and searchable interface: agent profiles with resolved names, avatars, and service descriptors; reputation heuristics and feedback history; trust network visualizations; wallet activity views; and ecosystem-wide analytics. It resolves agent URIs transparently across data, HTTP, and IPFS schemes so the information agents publish about themselves - what they do, what protocols they support, what services they offer - is actually visible and discoverable rather than locked behind hex data on a block explorer.
Additionally, all agent metadata is indexed and searchable with endpoints available for agents to use for discovery. Agentic search endpoints are behind an x402 paywall with a $ 0.02 USDC fee to prevent spam and ensure valid requests are prioritized.

Use of AI tools and agents
AgentIndex is an explorer and reputation tracker for agents using the ERC-8004 protocol. Agent metadata is fully indexed and an API is available for agentic discovery.
