The problem Aerotoken solves

Traditional flight ticketing systems suffer from various inefficiencies, including centralized control, lack of transparency, ticket fraud, and difficulties in ticket resales or transfers. Currently, customers rely on third-party intermediaries such as airlines, travel agencies, and ticketing platforms, which can introduce high costs, restrictive policies, and risks of data breaches. Additionally, once a flight ticket is purchased, transferring it to another individual is often restricted or requires complex procedures, leading to inconvenience for travelers.

AeroToken leverages blockchain technology and NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) to revolutionize flight ticketing by ensuring transparency, security, and ownership. With AeroToken, flight tickets are minted as NFTs, giving travelers complete control over their tickets. This enables secure peer-to-peer ticket transfers, eliminates the risk of counterfeiting, and prevents double booking through immutable blockchain records. Since every ticket exists as a unique digital asset on the blockchain, fraudulent ticket duplication becomes impossible, significantly reducing scams in the secondary ticket market.

Moreover, this decentralized approach reduces reliance on intermediaries, cutting unnecessary costs and allowing users to book and manage their tickets without worrying about hidden fees or centralized manipulation. By integrating blockchain technology, AeroToken ensures that all transactions are transparent, tamper-proof, and easily verifiable. Smart contracts handle ticket sales and transfers autonomously, removing the need for manual intervention and reducing operational complexities for airlines and ticketing agencies.

Challenges we ran into

One major challenge was integrating NFT-based ticketing with a seamless user experience. Ensuring gas efficiency, handling smart contract interactions, and implementing a user-friendly interface required multiple iterations. We also faced issues with wallet connections and transaction confirmations, which we resolved by optimizing the blockchain interactions and improving the frontend flow.
