    Biometric Checkpoints: Facial recognition and self-service kiosks streamline airport processes.

Challenges we ran into

Problem:
During development, we faced a significant issue with real-time data synchronization between the airline's backend system and the passenger-facing mobile app. When passengers received flight updates or rebooking notifications, there was a noticeable delay, leading to inconsistent information being displayed.

Cause:
The issue was traced to the API response times and how data from the airline’s servers was being fetched and cached by the mobile app. The synchronization between the backend system and the frontend app wasn't optimized for high traffic loads.

Solution:

Optimized API Calls: We reduced unnecessary API calls by introducing webhooks that triggered only when specific events (like flight delays or rebookings) occurred, ensuring faster response times.
Real-Time Data Streaming: Implemented WebSocket connections to ensure persistent, real-time data streaming between the backend and the mobile app, minimizing lag.
Caching Mechanism: Improved the caching mechanism to refresh data only when needed, preventing delays in displaying critical information.

By integrating these optimizations, we reduced the data delay, providing passengers with up-to-date, real-time information without lag.
