The problem AeroEase solves
About 450 million people in India suffer from long-term respiratory conditions, which cause 4 million fatalities per year. While being necessary, traditional nebulizers are frequently large, challenging to maintain, and ineffective—especially in an emergency. Going to the hospital when experiencing respiratory distress might cause delays in critical treatment, which can worsen the situation, especially if the emergency occurs at night. It is difficult to effectively manage respiratory disorders because of this lack of convenience and real-time health monitoring.
AeroEase is a portable, small nebulizer that incorporates cutting-edge respiratory monitoring technology. In addition to effectively administering medication, it monitors vital signs like heart rate, SpO2, and wheeze detection in real time. Users may keep an eye on their respiratory health, retain medical information, and rapidly communicate information with healthcare experts for in-person consultations.
Challenges we ran into
- Combining multiple sensors (wheeze detection, SpO2, heart rate) and ultrasonic nebulization technology into a compact, portable design. We solved it by leveraging efficient circuit design and cutting-edge hardware integration techniques to ensure all components fit seamlessly without compromising functionality.
- Translating 3D CAD designs into a functional prototype without compromising aesthetics or ergonomics. We did iterative prototyping and feedback loops to refine the design and functionality.
