The problem Aegis solves
Prediction markets often lack transparency and have complex betting rules that are hard to understand. Users struggle to track their performance and analyze market conditions effectively, leading to potential losses. Aegis simplifies this by providing automated rule analysis and on-chain performance tracking, helping users make safer, data-driven decisions on Polymarket.
Challenges I ran into
As my first project combining TypeScript and smart contract development alongside browser extension creation, I encountered several learning curves. Coming from a Roblox development background, adapting to Web3 technologies presented exciting new challenges.
The biggest hurdle was understanding TypeScript's type system while simultaneously learning Solidity for smart contracts. Having experience with Lua from Roblox helped with programming concepts, but the strict typing and blockchain architecture required a different mindset.
Developing a browser extension also brought unique challenges in terms of managing state and creating a smooth user interface. I had to carefully consider how to structure the extension to provide real-time market analysis without impacting browser performance.
