Why are you participating for Based Africa?
Inspired by the financial exclusion in Aba, the project's goal is to break the cycle of reliance on centralized banking, offering residents DeFi solutions and financial empowerment.
What challenges are you focusing on?
Financial exclusion, high banking fees, and unreliable access to funds are major hurdles. Base technology provides a decentralized alternative, reducing costs, improving access, and enabling on-chain financial services for the community.
How does your submission address this challenge?
The project introduces DeFi to Aba, allowing for microloans, on-chain transactions, and NFT-driven global exposure for artisans. This shift will help local businesses grow, enhance financial inclusion, and boost the local economy.
Challenges we ran into
The technical challenges included onboarding users unfamiliar with DeFi and ensuring reliable access to decentralized platforms. By educating the community through local initiatives like PronounsDAO and streamlining the user experience, these issues were mitigated
