The problem AASHVAS solves
AASHVAS is a wearable smart belt designed to provide temporary relief from arthritis pain, especially for elderly users. It integrates heat therapy, vibration massage, and TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) to manage pain naturally and effectively. The device is AI-powered to track pain levels and personalize treatment. It reduces dependency on medications and surgeries, offering a safer and simpler way to relieve joint pain and improve mobility.
Challenges we ran into
One major challenge was integrating multiple therapeutic modes (heat, vibration, and TENS) in a compact, wearable format without compromising comfort or safety. Managing power consumption while ensuring continuous therapy was also a hurdle. On the software side, syncing real-time control via the mobile app in MIT App Inventor was tricky, especially with Bluetooth communication delays. We overcame this by optimizing signal timing and redesigning the app flow for smoother operation.
