Anganwadi Centres are childcare centres in India, run under the ICDS programme. ICDS programme offers health, nutrition and education related services to children, women and adolescent girls. The services targeted at young children are immunisation, regular health check-ups, nutrition. Poshan tracker is an app that allows Anganwadi Workers and helpers to enter data of the children enrolled in that centre. Many NGOs and Foundations that are working with these centres for the benefit of the children do not have access to this data.
The portal has been created to enter, store, interpret, display and deliver the data with easy interfaces.
In future, the portal can be further developed showing accurate pi charts/bar graphs as an overview for the NGOs as well as developing it to monitor individual childs growth using line graphs. Using ML, their growth can be predicted using regression. Classification may also be used to to identify a childs nutrition status from the graph itself.
Going into this hackathon as an amateur first year team, we weren't sure of a starting point to implement our idea. Being exposed to several languages and platforms, we spent a lot of time to explore the best approach for us to execute this. However, the constructive guidance and constant support from the mentors helped us eventually be able to link the backend operations to the frontend page through routing. Additionally, we were unable to properly implement the get and post functions in flask, which lead to multiple errors in the login page and subsequently the data entry form. But we were able to test different methodologies over some time period and with some help were able to resolve this problem as well.
