The problem AA 2FA Wallet via Google Authenticator solves
greater adoption of the eth ecosystem among retail/casual users that do not need/want to understand the technology is definitely currently blocked by all the hacks resulting form the deep knowledge needed to secure your wallet properly. We hope that by enabling 2FA, we will be able to provide a wallet with greater UX and comparable security without the need for any hardware wallets. Creating a secure wallet has to be available just with a few clicks - otherwise we cannot compete with centralized tech.
Challenges we ran into
mainly generating merkle trees in javascript and python. Wanted to have a python backed with api to store the merkle trees with users otp codes offchain, but for some reason the trees roots were not equal for our javascript and python implementation, even though the trees were showing the exact same nodes. After that, we decided to move to a purely javascript impl for our non solidity backend.
